Wind

Being HOLY the HOLY SPIRIT’s ways are always holy or right.  So, to be led by the SPIRIT would be to be led in the right way.

The same Hebrew word for spirit can also mean wind.  So, the HOLY SPIRIT can be translated the Holy Wind.

We lived on the high plains of western Colorado in a small community of Ellicott for many years and the wind sure could blow out there where there was nothing to stop it.  At times the wind blew so hard that if you tried to walk against it, it was a struggle to inch yourself onward, sometimes it even pushed you backwards.  I remember one time that the wind rocked our mobile home and blew out windows.  I praise the LORD we had scrambled out of the trailer and into our car just moments before the large windows where we were sitting blew own and glass was everywhere.

In the same manner when a believer goes against the nudging and whispers of the HOLY SPIRIT it is like trying to walk against a turbulent wind.  Temptations are everywhere, everything is hard if not impossible. So, slipping and falling are the rule not the exception.

But on the other hand, if you choose to turn around and walk in the direction that the wind is blowing the wind at your back compels or drives you forward so walking is a breeze.  When you let the HOLY SPIRIT lead you, like a wind HE will sweep you along, enabling you in the toughest situations.

Are you walking against the wind, or are you enabled to stay upright and swept forward as you walk by the power of the HOLY SPIRIT?

Galatians 5:13 This I say then, walk in the SPIRIT and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
