Our GOD is greater!

Do you remember singing the songs, “Our GOD is greater” or “How great is our GOD”? How can people know about our marvelous and all HE has done unless we tell them? Do we let others know about our great GOD? Do we even tell HIM what we think of HIM?

LORD GOD ALMIGHTY, YOU are infinitely greater… beyond all we can imagine.

How great is YOUR faithfulness we see that it YOUR design both in the physical as seen in the seasons and in our lives, how YOU keep YOUR promises.  “The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases, HIS mercies never come to an end, they are new every morning, new every morning, great is THY faithfulness O LORD, great is THY faithfulness (Lamentations 3:22-23).

How great is YOUR love, compassion and mercy for while we were sinners YOU sent YOUR only Begotten Son, JESUS (John 3:16) to come pay for our sins so we could be adopted into YOUR family and live forever with YOU.

How great is YOUR wisdom and understanding seen in YOUR plans for each of YOUR creation from the boundaries of the waves of the sea, to the heavenly bodies and even to mosquitos… big and small YOUR designs are according to YOUR great wisdom and understanding.  Plus, YOU tell us that YOU have specific plans for each of those who believe in JESUS (Ephesians 2:10).  It is so amazing.

How great is YOUR humor and creativity.  I look at the vast variety of colors and designs from graceful bird to the cartoon stick character of a Praying Mantis.  I am amazed and yet at times must laugh with YOU.

How great is YOUR joy and peace that YOU pour out on those who look to YOU.  And do we ever need it.  Thank YOU.

Yet these are only a tiny part of YOUR ways, Besides the amazing wonder of JESUS coming to save us, the things I’ve mentioned are but some of the minor things YOU do, “merely a whisper of YOUR glory and the outer fringe of YOUR workings; how faint the whisper we hear of YOU! Who then can understand?’ (Job 26:14).

YOUR greatness is unsearchable (Psalm 145:3) and I bow in wonder. Please show me more of YOU and my LORD JESUS CHRIST.

It thrills me that YOU take great delight in me, take time to quiet me with YOUR love and even sing over me (Zephaniah 3:37).  And it blows my mind that when we who love YOU think about YOUR name (character) and talk about it that YOU are so delighted that YOU have our words recorded and make an awesome vow concerning us (Malachi 3:16-17).

Thank YOU for loving me and giving me JESUS and the HOLY SPIRIT and YOUR promise never to leave me nor forsake me (Hebrews 13:5).  YOU are so good!

I love YOU, LORD.

Are you ready?

JESUS had sent out 70 of HIS followers to go out to tell about JESUS and to heal the sick (Luke 10:1-2, 9) and when they had done as HE asked and returned and reported to JESUS, “And the 70 again returned with joy, saying ‘LORD the devils are subject to us through YOUR name’” (Luke 10:17).

JESUS said unto them, “I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven” (Luke 10:18).

Why did JESUS say that? Satan fell from his high position in heaven because he became proud of himself (Isaiah 14:12-14, Ezekiel 28:17). By saying that JESUS was warning his followers about thinking that the gifts given them to do HIS work made them special.

“For who makes you to differ from another? And what do you have that you did not received?  Now if you have received it why do you glory as if you did not receive it?” (1 Corinthians 4:7) “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of GOD and not of us” (2 Corinthians 4:7).

The purpose of GOD equipping HIS servants with spiritual gifts ar to do HIS work.  It is liketurning on the faucet that has a garden hose attached.  The garden hose is not the source of refreshingwater, but the conduit through which the water flows. We must always remember GODis the source of the power and HE flows through us to do HIS will.

I am an earthen vessel, just a little pot of clay.  without contents I’m worthless, unused inane I lay. Then the tender Master Potter filled HIS vessel from above with the living flowing water of HIS great eternal love.  No longer am I worthless nor inane, unused do lie, for there’s water for the thirsty, their needs HE does supply.

But then JESUS went on to say, “Behold I have given you power (equipped you) …over all the power of the enemy …Notwithstanding in this rejoice not that the spirits are subject to you; but rather rejoice that your names are written in heaven” (Luke 10:20).

When we believe in JESUS GOD the FATHER takes us out of the kingdom of darkness and places us into the kingdom of HIS dear son (of heaven)(Colossians 1:13) (and our names are written in the Lamb’s book of life (Malachi 3:16, John 3:16, Philippians 4:3, Revelation 13:7-8, Revelation 20:15).

Considering these truths what is the greatest thing we can have?

Therefore, what are the greater works JESUS speaks about in John 14:12?

Now, may the LORD guide you with HIS peace (Colossians 3:15), strengthen you with HIS joy (Nehemiah 8:10) and enable you with HIS grace (Hebrews 4:16).  Keep looking unto JESUS (Hebrews 12:2) and talk over your thoughts with HIM (2 Corinthians 10:5).

Hugs
