Are you ready?

Have you ever had someone totally misread your intent?  I think that is happening today.

GOD called Job the perfect man and yet the LORD allowed Job to go through some horrible times.  Yet even during the questions eating at Job, his faith never failed though he became perplexed because he just couldn’t understand why.

Then GOD spoke to Job and mentioned details about several things HE had created and asked Job if he had been there or if he knew certain things about a creature.  After catching a glimpse of the infinite greatness, power, and wisdom of GOD in what HE had created, Job replied to the Lord:

“I know that YOU can do all things; no purpose of YOURS can be thwarted (stopped). YOU asked, ‘Who is this that obscures (misunderstands for it is hidden) MY plans without knowledge (in ignorance)?’  Surely I spoke of things I did not understand, things too wonderful for me to know…My ears had heard of YOU (LORD GOD ALMIGHTY) but now my eyes have seen YOU “ (Job 42:1-3, 5).

Looking at the reports of a global website that for at least several days running more than 500,ooo thousand a day are turning to CHRIST from all over the world-of every nation and tongue.  We see this pandemic has been an opportunity for GOD to harvest many souls for eternity.

We don’t know the time or place, but a certain time and place has been appointed that each of us will die and after this the judgment (Hebrews 9:27).  Reports tell us that this crisis is getting many people ready for that day.

For death is not an option, it is a given but what happens next is an option that is determined by each of us here and now while we live in this life on planet earth. 

GOD promises eternal life to whosoever will believe on HIS Son.  Believe that JESUS, the eternal SON of GOD took on a body and came as a baby, lived a sinless life and died for the sins of the world and then was raised by GOD back to life three days later and is coming back as LORD for those who believe in HIM (John 3 :16)

But those who refuse to believe on JESUS and suppress the truth in unrighteousness, the wrath of GOD abides on them and they will eventually be thrown in the eternal lake of fire (John 3:36, Romans 1:18-21, Revelation 20:15).  

GOD is freely offering eternal life, but you must be willing to receive it. If you are willing to admit you have done wrong and believe JESUS paid the price for your forgiveness and call upon the LORD JESUS you are saved (Romans 10:9-10, 13) and GOD forgives you and covers you with HIS righteousness (Romans 3:20-23).

Looking unto JESUS who has promised to come again for us who look for HIM (Hebrews 9:28).

How do you look at it?

Look at the picture and then tilt your head to the right and tell me is the picture of a frog or a horse?

It’s all in how you look at something. Take for instance my total knee surgery.  If I focused on the knife cutting me open and the shaving off of the old bone then hammering on metal covers, or as my primary provider said “They are going to cut your leg off  and then put it back together,” I would have been terrified. 

If I didn’t have the pain I would never have agreed to the surgery but I had the pain and it grew worse and worse. 

Well things are getting worse and worse on planet earth and it is causing many people to think more about GOD and to call out to HIM to help.

Now GOD has promised all those who believe in JESUS and call on HIM for deliverance from their sins, an eternal life without pain or sorrow.  But throughout HIS word the Bible HE also tells us that before the earth can be fixed for that eternal habitation where there is no pain and no sorrow some hard things must occur.  The things HE spoke of include things like senseless murder, famines, earthquakes, persecuting and imprisoning believers and pandemics (Luke 21:9-12). It sure looks like some of those things have begun- that we are even in the birth pains- perhaps even in the seals.

JESUS said concerning these things, “Don’t be terrified, these things must happen” (Luke 21:9) and in Luke 21:28 HE said when you see these things coming to pass look up your redemption draws near.

It will be just like when Noah went into the boat before the flood hit.  He and his family were saved, in the same way we who believe in JESUS will be kept safe.

But you know many, even some Christians, don’t like this truth which told over and over in the Bible.

Do you know why? They are focusing on and trusting in what they have in this life instead of what is promised to them.

A prophesy update:

Do you believe our GOD can lie?

Do you believe our GOD can lie? Don’t hedge but answer clear. For that is what you’re saying when your heart is gripped with fear.

Even in bad times GOD is protecting you. GOD is working in your behalf and works all things together for good for us who love HIM. In 2 Corinthians 4:15-18 GOD declares that everything that touches us will BENEFIT us .Do you believe that? It is in the Word of the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY. Can you trust HIS wisdom and power to take that which seems evil and use it for good?..

GOD will fulfill HIS purposes

GOD will achieve HIS purposes and HIS desire is for all who will believe in JESUS to come to HIM and escape what lies in the future.

The Bible is an amazing book and reveals some truths that at times are hard to swallow for GOD’s ways are not our ways and HIS thoughts are not our thoughts-but they accomplish what needs to be done (Isaiah 55:8-11, Romans 8:28).  Sometimes HIS ways seem quite unorthodox.

In the Old Testament we learn an astounding truth about GOD, HE uses the wicked to bring discipline/judgment even on HIS own people. Then HE punishes the wicked for overstepping bounds HE had set for them.

As I asked the LORD about how to pray concerning the Coronavirus this is what I was given.  I have hesitated to share this but feel I must.

The sword of the LORD…how long til you rest?…But how can it rest when the LORD has commanded it, when HE has ordered it…(Jeremiah 47:6-7).

But LORD people say the coronavirus can’t be from YOU they won’t want to hear this word. 

Really? I told you blessed is everyone who reads and takes to heart what I tell you in the book of Revelation (Revelation 1:3).  Remember I the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY never change (Malachi James 1:17).  You know I use means -isn’t that why you go to doctors and take medicine?

Revelation 6:1-2 the Lamb (JESUS) opens the 1^st of the 7 seals and a crowned conqueror went out to conquer (nation against nation Luke 21:9-10, Matthew 24:6)

Revelation 6:3-4 the Lamb (JESUS) opens the 2^nd seal and rider given power to take peace from the earth and to make men kill each other (senseless murders)

Revelation 6:5-6 the Lamb (JESUS) opens the 3^rd seal and its rider brings famine. (think of Africa Luke 21:11, Matthew 24:7)

Revelation 6:7-8 the Lamb (JESUS) opens the 4^th seal and death and hell were given power over 1/4^th of the earth to kill by sword, famine, and plague -like the Coronavirus (Luke 21:11).

Revelation 6:9-10 the Lamb (JESUS) opens the 5^th seal and the martyrs cry out, “How long, Sovereign LORD, holy and true, until YOU judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood.  They are told to wait a little longer until the full number to be killed as they were (Matthew 24:9-10). (Please note these martyrs die for their witness of JESUS, while the martyrs in Revelation 14:13 are Jews who refuse to take the mark of the beast and worship the statue of the Antichrist set up in the temple of GOD).

1-Who breaks the 1^st 4 seals that unleash severe problems on the earth?

2-When does GOD’s punishment of the earth begin? Revelation 6:10, 8:1-7

3-After the Lamb (JESUS) opens the 6^th seal what do the people of the earth cry out? Revelation 6:16-17

4-Therefore are the seals part of the avenging wrath of GOD Revelation 6:10-11, 16-17,  or are they the beginning of birth pains -Matthew 24:8?   

5-Are the birth pains the 7 seals of Revelation 6?

6-Why would GOD bring these things on people? Revelation 9:20-21

7-Why must there be judgment anyway? Romans 12:19

One evidence that GOD’s ways are achieving what HE has purposed is an exciting report from a worldwide gospel website. Daily they are receiving hits on their site, for many days running they received over 500,000 (yes 5 hundred thousand) hits from people wanting to accept JESUS.  Remember mobile devises are worldwide. 

GOD will achieve HIS purposes and saving people is HIS heart’s desire.

Roots

Walking around the park is a relaxing time of talking to and hearing  the LORD.  Today I found myself directed to focus on the skinny little but tall weeds beginning to grow on the edge of the sidewalk and grass and I felt an urge to pull them.  It had rained last night so they came up fairly easily. As I pulled and walked the LORD began explaining truth using the weeds HE had created. The seed was planted and growing there because some seed from another place flew there and found some soil.

My Creator impressed in my heart that each root, like the root of bitterness (Hebrews 12:15) symbolized a sin hatched from a lie. Each weed begins little but as the roots go down deeper in the heart actions are seen that indicate the root is there.  The longer the root remains the stronger and deeper it goes and the more obvious the resultant actions in the life.

With each weed that I gently pulled out (for I wanted all the root and not just break it off in the soil where it could start growing again), I prayed against the lies that we had believed and for the resultant sins that were creeping up in me and my loved ones.

Although the weeds I pulled, without earth to nourish them, are now wilting, you can still see a truth in my snap shot of two of them.  Look at the little one I pulled compared to the larger one.  The little one was about 3 inches above the ground with one tiny flower while the larger one, whose roots were fat and had spread, was 14-15 inches high with 18 flowers plus buds that were about to flower.  This shows the longer we allow the lies of the evil one with its lusts to grow in us the subsequent evidence will manifest more and more. 

Trying to stop the evidence (outward sin) without removing the root lie is foolish for it will just start growing again.

As with the rain last night loosening the grip of the soil, so when the water of GOD’s Word pours over a lie its grip on the soul is loosened.  Then the lies and roots of sin can be pulled out. But it must be done gently (2 Timothy 2:23-26) or it will grow again.

Prayer: I love YOU LORD and thank YOU JESUS for opening the way to come to the throne of grace that we may find mercy and receive grace to help in our times of need (Hebrews 12:16).  LORD GOD ALMIGHTY YOU are good and what YOU say is right and true.  YOUR ways and YOUR judgments are right and good. 

I confess for myself and my children and my brothers and sisters in CHRIST that as we have lived and moved in this world we have picked up the thoughts and standards surrounding us and originated by the liar (1 John 5:19).  We have come to believe lies. 

Please give us a hunger for YOUR Word, for JESUS told us that we cannot live by bread alone but by every Word that proceeds from YOUR mouth (Matthew 4:4).  Use YOUR Word to reveal YOUR truth to us exposing whatever lie we have believed.

Use YOUR Word to water our souls so the roots of lies are loosened. We need YOU to pull out those lies, those roots that are causing us to sin.  For without YOU we can do nothing (John 15:3-5). Nothing is too hard for YOU my GOD, that I know. 

Have YOUR way in our lives, YOUR kingdom come, YOUR will be done here on earth as it is in heaven- I ask in JESUS holy name.

Rough day?

There seems to be many irritations creeping in and I for one must take steps to avoid the temptation to grumpiness. Getting in the Word and letting GOD talk to me helps me most, next to that is a friend texting a Bible verse or a image that makes me smile. Here is one such image that a friend sent.

Getting to know HIM

It is important to know our GOD. 2 Peter 1:1-4 mentions some very important reasons.

By knowing GOD and our Savior JESUS CHRIST we:

*receive FAITH through the righteousness of GOD and JESUS (Romans 10:17)

*GRACE (GOD’s riches at CHRIST’s expense)

*PEACE

*all that we need for life and godly living

*great and precious PROMISES (in HIS word) and if we will use those promises we will escape the corruption of the world and even take on the divine nature (love, joy, peace, and the like.)

So let’s look as a few things some of GOD’s names tell us about HIM.

* Elohim – my Creator

*Jehovah/ or Yahweh- I AM the Alpha (beginning) and Omega (the end)

* El-Shaddai  The source of all supply and nourishment

* Jehovah-Jireh the GOD that provide for us. Genesis 22:13-14

* Jehovah-Raphe the GOD that heals me. Exodus 15:26

* Jehovah-Nissi the one I look to for victory Exodus 17:15

* Jehovah-shalom the LORD our peace. Judges 6:24

* Jehovah-Rohi our shepherd. Psalm 23:1

* Jehovah-Tsidkenu the LORD our righteousness. Jeremiah 23:6

* Jehovah-Shammah-the LORD who is present with me, YOU will never leave me, nor forsake me (Hebrews 13:5) YOU are always there. Ezekiel 48:35

* Jehovah-Heleyon -YOU are the most high GOD. Psalm 7:17

*YahWey my GOD is mighty to save, HE sings over me Zephaniah 3:17

*Jehovah-Elohay- my GOD. Zechariah 14:5

*Jehovah-Sabboth- the Lord of host (armies) 1 Samuel 1:3

*JESUS- YOU save me from my sins

GOD is using it for good

At the last part of Genesis we find a truth about GOD spoken by Joseph one of the 12 sons of Jacob.  Let me review the story before I give you the punchline.

Joseph’s brothers sold him as a slave to a caravan and he was taken to Egypt.  In everything he did he did his very best as unto the LORD and the LORD blessed him as a slave and later when he was unjustly imprisoned and then forgotten.  But through it all GOD was with him.

Thirteen years after his brothers sold him, Joseph was placed 2^nd in command of Egypt and through his leadership food was stored up for a worldwide famine that was coming and would last 7 years.  During that famine his father and brothers moved to Egypt and Joseph made sure they had all they needed.  But then Jacob, their father died and the brothers were scared Joseph would get even with them. But Joseph said:

“You meant it for evil but GOD meant it for good to save many alive” (Genesis 50:20).

There are reports from around the world that thousands upon thousands are coming to the LORD during our present worldwide coronavirus.  The virus is evil, but GOD is using it for good to save many eternally.

GOD’s incredible infinite knowledge and power is mind-boggling.

Seeking the LORD in HIS Word this morning I asked to see more of HIM and was amazed again and am at a total loss to find words to describe the incredible infinite knowledge of GOD that HE pointed out to me.

GOD had the prophet Jeremiah offer a choice to the king and told the king precisely what would occur if he chooses obedience and what would occur if he refused.  What is even more amazing is that GOD knew before offering the king that choice what the king would do and synchronized events accordingly (see Jeremiah 38:15-23).

GOD always offers us a choice and our choice will determine, for that instance, if we are vessels of honor or dishonor (2 Timothy 2:20-21). Yet GOD’s purposes are never thwarted for HE always presets things according to what HE knows we will choose (foreknowledge).

“Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it” (Psalm 139:6).

But I can choose to acknowledge GOD in all things and do what HE prompts me to do while not leaning on my own understanding but trusting HIS (Proverbs 3:5-7).

THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY promises- “And the Lord will continually guide you, And satisfy your desire in scorched places, And give strength to your bones; And you will be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water whose waters do not fail (Isaiah 58:11).

Are you reading the Bible?

Keeping in mind that “all Scripture is inspired by GOD and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16), let me recap for you a recent journey that lead me to a clearer understanding of one of the marvelous ways of GOD.

Reading, “HE causes them to change their minds” (Job 33:17NLT), I wondered, how does GOD do it? Speaking with the LORD, as I thought on the verse, I felt nudged to check out the wording in my Hebrew interlinear Bible.

The literal Hebrew reads: “GOD speaks one way and another, but they do not notice…then HE opens the ears of men and seals their instructions, that HE may turn man aside from his deed” (Job 33:14, 16-17).

Wow! GOD seals their instructions. That is how I feel when GOD speaks to me from HIS word. We used to say “I know that I know”. When the HOLY SPIRIT speaks, I know what I am suppose to do. I go from pondering ideas, to the confident assurance of knowing concretely what GOD wants me to do. Now, I seldom know all the steps that it will entail. But, I get the general idea. Then, as I step out in faith to do what I know to do (like the nudge to look at the verses in Hebrew), HE leads me on step by step.

My mind flashed to Revelation 17:17: “for GOD has put it into their minds to carry out HIS purpose and to make them come to agree to give their kingdoms unto the beast, until the words of GOD shall be fulfilled.” Aha, I had often wondered, how GOD was going to get those kings to hand over their kingdoms. Whatever it is that GOD says in their ears, will seal their instructions-causing them to be certain that to agree and hand their kingdoms over is in their best interest.

“For it is GOD who works in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases HIM” (Philippians 2:13).

Then, while doing some research for a friend, I came across another verse. “he will turn the hearts of the…disobedient to the attitude (wisdom, perspective) of the righteous” (Luke 1:17) WOW! What a verse to pray for a rebellious child!

We are told that the porter opens the door to the Shepherd, and the sheep recognize and listen to the voice of the Shepherd (not the porter-messenger) (John 10:3). We speak with gentleness and it opens hearts to listen to GOD.

With what I had learned from Job, and seen in Revelation, it was clear how the HOLY SPIRIT, opens the ears of a person through the words of either a person or Scripture, and HE speaks HIS rhema words (words for the particular situation) into their heart and mind, sealing their instructions. Or, as is said in Job 33:17 NLT, “HE causes them to change their minds.”

Don’t you just love how one verse in the Bible, helps you understand others?

If on some point you think differently that too GOD will make clear to you. Only let us live up to what we have already attained (learned) (Philippians 3:16).
