It’s not fair!

Life just isn’t fair. JESUS warned us it would be this way when HE said, “in this life you will have tribulation but cheer up I have overcome the world ” (John 16:33).

GOD tells us in HIS word that our temporary troubles are achieving eternal things for us that far surpass the unfairness and pain of today (2 Corinthians 4:17).  In fact, the LORD promises that HE is using all the good and bad, working them together for an end result of good for us who love HIM.  HE is developing Christlikeness in us through what we encounter (Romans 8:28-29).

JESUS said, If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am (John 14:3).

JESUS went up in a cloud 40 days after HE rose from the grave (Acts 1:3, 9-11).  HE went to prepare a place for us, and HE is coming again to get us and take us to where HE has been.

Since the beginning of the world men have not heard…neither eye seen…what GOD has prepared for those who wait for Him (Isaiah 64:4, 1 Corinthians 2:9).

Are you expectantly waiting for JESUS to return and take us to be with HIM?

I urge you in JESUS’s stead to consider these things and may the good LORD give you wisdom and understanding (James 1:5, 1 Corinthians 2:10) and reveal to you whatever you need to see (Philippians 3:15) as HE guides you with HIS peace (Colossians 3:15), strengthens you with HIS joy (Nehemiah 8:10), and enables you with HIS grace (Hebrews 4:16). Now may the GOD of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the HOLY SPIRIT.”(Romans 15:13) Keep looking unto JESUS (Hebrews 12:2) and talk over your thoughts with HIM (2 Corinthians 10:5).

Things seem unfair?

My daughter Jeri has been with us and she is a joy to have around.  But she is spoiling her Dad by making him cookies every day.  He loves them all but his favorite is snickerdoodles.  Jeri was gone today but our granddaughter Chloe came over.  Guess what she did?  She made Grandpa snickerdoodles. LOL 😊 What is your favorite cookie?

Although GOD does not have favorites, GOD does generate favoritism in others according to HIS own purposes. By that I mean, GOD elevates one person very high in the eyes of another.

And the patriarchs (Joseph’s 10 older brothers) moved with envy and sold Joseph into Egypt but GOD was with him and delivered him out of all his afflictions and gave him favor and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh. Acts 7:9.10

Talk about unfair… Joseph was sold into slavery by his very own brothers. But GOD was with him. Is there something unfair in your life? JESUS said those kind of things will happen because we are living in a sinful world.

John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

But no matter what happens GOD is with us.

GOD delivered Joseph out of all his afflictions, and he had a bunch. 1) He was sold as a slave but GOD gave him favor with his master and he was put in charge of all his master owned; then 2) Joseph was lied about and thrown into jail but GOD gave him favor with the jailer and he was put in charge of what went on in the jail; 3) doing his job Joseph helped a man understand a dream and the man promised to try to get him out of jail but that man forgot his promise.  But at the right time, 2 years later when Pharaoh had a dream no one could explain, that man told Pharaoh about Joseph. When Joseph stood before the Pharaoh, GOD gave him favor and wisdom in the eyes of Pharaoh and Joseph was placed 2nd in authority over Egypt.

When it comes right down to it, every problem Joseph had taught him something and prepared him for the next place he was to go. But what mattered to Joseph was GOD was with him. Each struggle put him where he needed to be and the delays kept him where he could be easily found at the right time to do the great work GOD had for him.  That work was to save many alive. (GOD has preset the exact times and places for the purpose that men should reach out to HIM (Acts 17:26c,27)

No matter how unfair, bad, senseless, or impossible things seem GOD is with you. No matter how many problems/ troubles you have GOD will deliver you out of them all. With each problem GOD is actively conspiring to use it for an end result of good in order to fulfill HIS purposes. They will also work for good to you personally if you love HIM. GOD will give you favor in the eyes of the ones you need to be accepted by to do the work HE has called you to do. Each problem will prepare you for the next and ultimately to fulfill GOD’s plans. But what you need to remember through it all is GOD is with you. Then you will be able to hear GOD say, “Well done, MY good and faithful servant.”

Are things unfair? Think back to Joseph. All those unfair things enabled him to become 2nd in power over all of Egypt and save many alive (Genesis 50:20).  Are things hard?  Trust the LORD anyway for HE loves you and HIS plan is to bless you not hurt you (Jeremiah 29:11).  Just wait, you’ll see.
