Examine

With all the scams and contradictory news stories out there do you ever speculate on what is true? Have you ever questioned where people come up with some of the crazy ideas that are prevalent these days? Doesn’t it seem like the ideas keep getting wilder by the moment? Have you considered that you are being programmed just like a computer?

The masses, including you and I have been and are being bombarded with information by the media, advertisements, schools and through our peers. That info is programming us, whether we realize it or not just like a computer is programmed by what it takes in. We are being indoctrinated day in and day out without being aware of it.

There are so many voices out there and they often contradict each other so how can we know the truth?

Since our beliefs are the basis for making daily decisions, we might say they are our compass. A compass shows us the way we should go therefore it is radically important that our compass is accurate for us to make the right decisions.

As a man thinks (true) in his heart (places value, estimates as true, reasons), so is he (so he responds in life). Proverbs 23:7

With all diligence, keep your heart (protected), for out of it (its reasoning, values) issue (comes forth) actions. Proverbs 4:23

For truth we must look to GOD and HIS word for it is written “let GOD be true, but every man a liar” (Romans 3:4) GOD, cannot lie, (Titus 1:2).

JESUS highlighted this when while talking to GOD the FATHER HE said, “YOUR word is truth” (John 7:17).  Furthermore, JESUS told us, “Man cannot live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of GOD” (Matthew 4:4).

For that reason, it is essential that the Bible is our compass. In these days of deception, we need to prayerfully EXAMINE what we believe and everything that is being said against the light of the truth, that is, how it lines up with the WORD of GOD which is the truth.

As GOD said in Isaiah 8:20, “To the law and to the testimony (the Bible): if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

Examples

When we read our Bibles sometimes something will strike us.  When that happens to me, I will write it out and think about it before going on.  For the HOLY SPIRIT takes GOD’s word and explains it to us (1 Corinthians 2:10-13).  HE knows the will of GOD for our lives so knows what we need to hear (Romans 8:27).

“For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning” (Romans 15:4).  “These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us” I Corinthians 10:11).

Within the Bible are many truths and the truth that GOD never changes (Malachi 3:6, James 1:17) shows us that within the history we read of in the Bible we learn eternal principles of how GOD works.

When reading the Bible and a verse or section seems to jump off the page it is speaking to you.  If it doesn’t seem to fit exactly a situation you or another are in, look for the principle shown in the text and you will find some understanding.  It may be just to calm your own spirit, or it may be for another.

I have found that if I see something and understand it but don’t know where to apply.  I write it down and something will come up later where I will need that verse or principle.

Even though I have read through the bible many times, every day I open the Word of GOD with expectancy and GOD speaks to me through HIS word.  Sometimes it is something I had not seen before, sometimes confirmation where there have been questions, sometimes comfort but every time HE meets with me there through the HOLY SPIRIT and gets me ready for the day.

The LORD wants to meet with you too, so open HIS word and ask HIM to come meet you there.

Contradiction of truth and reality

Crazy contradiction

The Lord despises those who say that bad is good and good is bad. Proverbs 17:15 TLB

In our world today we see mass adherence to plum craziness saying good is bad and bad is good and in doing so CONTRADICT truth and reality.

That craziness really fits in to the place we are studying today in class.

We are in Hebrews 12 and will cover the 1st 3 verses which tells us to CONSIDER the total CONTRADICTION of truth and reality.  We are told to CONSIDER our perfect LORD JESUS in WHOM is all the fullness of the GODHEAD in a body (Colossians 2:9), without WHOM nothing was made that was made (John 1:1-3, Hebrews 1:1-3), WHO went around doing good and healing the sick, this JESUS who never sinned YET sinners called HIM a lawbreaker, a criminal worthy of death and had HIM crucified.  On the cross HE bore and paid for all sins even those of the very sinners accusing HIM.

If that is not saying good is bad and bad is good, I don’t know what is.  Their act is a contradiction of truth and reality.

Note the words of this old song (1917); Living for JESUS written by T.O. Chisholm that we are singing in class today.  I’m having them sing the 2nd verse 1st for a reason.

#2        Living for JESUS who died in my place, bearing on Calvary my sin and disgrace Such love constrains me to answer HIS call, follow HIS leading and give HIM my all

C          O JESUS LORD and Savior I give myself to THEE for THOU in THINE atonement didst give THYSELF for me; I own no other master, my heart shall be THY throne, My life I give henseforth to live, O CHRIST for THEE alone.

#1        Living for JESUS a life that is true, striving to please HIM in all that I do.  Yeilding allegiance, gladhearted and free, This is the pathway of blessing for me.

C          O JESUS LORD and Savior I give myself to THEE for THOU in THINE atonement didst give THYSELF for me; I own no other master, my heart shall be THY throne, My life I give henseforth to live, O CHRIST for THEE alone.

When I consider this contradiction against JESUS it shows me how to endure my struggles.

Brought to tears

Have you ever thought when GOD tells us to pray that it is because GOD wants us to share our concerns with HIM so HE can comfort us, calm us, and direct us?

Have you ever had a conversation with someone who won’t let you get a word in edgewise? Isn’t that often the way we act when we pray? We just pour out our concerns and don’t stop to listen.

A few days back a I was informed of a very difficult situation. It brought me to my knees and filled my eyes with tears. I felt hopeless and all I knew to do was to run to GOD and open HIS Word. Peace and joy flooded over me as I laid my concerns down before the LORD and began to read. From helpless despair, GOD lifted me to joyful hope and a word here and a verse there spoke of promises… some I’d not seen as promises before but at just the right time they spoke to me.

JESUS said that we cannot live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of GOD- Matthew 4:4.

GOD is still speaking. The question is are we listening or even expecting HIM to speak to us?

“GOD, who at sundry (many) times and in divers manners (various ways) spoke in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken unto us by HIS SON (JESUS), whom HE has appointed heir of all things, by whom also HE made the worlds” -Hebrews 1:1-2

Let’s not forget that one of JESUS’ names is the Word -John 1:1, 14.

“For MY thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways MY ways, says the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are MY ways higher than your ways, and MY thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9

“But GOD has revealed them (the thoughts of GOD) unto us by HIS SPIRIT: for the SPIRIT searches all things, yes, the deep things of GOD. For what man knows the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of GOD knows no man, but (unless) the SPIRIT of GOD (show them to him)” 1 Corinthians 2:10-11.

Aren’t you glad you received the HOLY SPIRIT to live within you when you believed in JESUS? Just one of the benefits is that HE explains to us what GOD means.

“All scripture is given by inspiration of GOD, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” 2 Timothy 3:16

“For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of GOD spoke as they were moved by the HOLY GHOST (SPIRIT)” 2 Peter 1:21

GOD wants people to know HIM and be able to communicate with HIM, so HE gave us HIS word. All scripture was written as the HOLY SPIRIT of GOD moved on men to explain truths of GOD for our learning.

“For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope” Romans 15:4.

“when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of CHRIST which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now (2,000 years ago) revealed unto HIS holy Apostles and prophets by the SPIRIT” Ephesians 3:4-5

The JESUS appointed Apostles and prophets were given special revelation to be passed on to the people, often in written form.

“And account that the longsuffering of our LORD is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him has written unto you; As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction 2 Peter 5:15-16

Note in the above verse the Apostle Peter declares that Paul has written Scripture.

“And HE (JESUS) gave some (to be), Apostles; and some (to be), prophets; and some (to be), evangelists; and some (to be), pastors and (to be) teachers; For the perfecting of the saints (believers), for the work of the ministry, for the edifying (building up) of the body of CHRIST” Ephesians 4:11-12

“And (we the church) are built upon the foundation of the Apostles and prophets, JESUS CHRIST HIMSELF being the chief corner stone” Ephesians 2:20

A cornerstone is laid, and a foundation is poured BEFORE the house is built. JESUS, the cornerstone, appointed the Apostles HIMSELF, whom HE trained for the purpose of laying the foundation along with the Prophets (setting up the organization of the Church to be governed by GOD’s standards).  The church is the building on that foundation.   It is CHRIST’s body. This was done over 2,000 years ago and nothing needs to be added. The foundation is complete. “No other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is JESUS CHRIST” -1 Corinthians 3:11

In Acts 15:18 it is written that GOD knows everything HE will ever do. That screams foreknowledge to me and that is something far beyond my comprehension abilities.

In Matthew 16:19 speaking of the inter-workings of the New Testament Church it is written that what the Apostles bound (literally set boundaries around) and what they loosed (set free) HAD ALREADY been bound and loosed in heaven.

In the 1st days of the church when the Gentiles began to believe they didn’t know how to act for their pagan culture was opposed to GOD. False teachers came in trying to get them to follow Jewish rules. The Apostles (who were appointed by JESUS to set up and organize the church) and elders of the church met. An example of the binding is found in Acts 16:19 “And as they went through the cities, they delivered (to) them the decrees to keep (boundaries to keep within), that were determined by the Apostles and elders which were at Jerusalem. And so (with those instructions) were the churches established (strengthen/ and made firm) in the faith and increased in number daily” -Acts 16:4-5.

Now the loosing is seen another way. I saw it years ago as I was doing some translating homework for a Greek class. I think we need to view loosing by what the Word of GOD says JESUS came to loose.

1 John 3:8, “He that commits sin is of the devil; for the devil sins from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of GOD was manifested, that HE might destroy (same Greek word translated loose in Matthew 16:19) the works of the devil.”

That word loose means to unbind/ untie /to break/ to free/ to destroy. JESUS came to loose/set man free from the hold the devil had on him though lies. Therefore, the Apostles declaration of GOD’s truth of the gospel would break the chains and set people free from the lies of the devil which held them captive 2 Timothy 2:25-26.

“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:32.

JESUS said, “I come to bear witness of the truth” John 18:37.

The fears that attack me on Thursday fled when the truth of GOD’s word set me free.

I am beyond grateful to GOD for commissioning the Apostles and Prophets to write down the words the HOLY SPIRIT gave them for now in the Bible I have the truth that sets me free and through the Bible GOD speaks directly to me and to you if we go expecting to hear from HIM.

Everything good

GOD is amazing, the author of creativity and I love HIS designs.  Crazy as it seems, what appears here as a bird is actually a flower.

Have you ever been delighted when catching a glimpse of a vibrantly colored dazzling rainbow, filled with joy at seeing the beauty of a sunrise or sunset, or set to dancing when you hear lively strains of music?  Those are just crumbs of the glory/majesty of GOD’s astounding power. “For every good and perfect gift is from above and comes down from the FATHER of lights” (James 1:17).

Across the spectrum, when you have been troubled, confused, or hurting have you opened the Bible and prayed and been met and filled with peace?  That is just a tidbit of being aware of the Presence of our ALMIGHTY loving GOD.

As believers in JESUS, we are guaranteed to both experience the awesome wonder of GOD’s amazing Presence and every thing good which is the glory of HIS majestic power. We get to experience them both intimately throughout all eternity.

But not so for the ones who refuse JESUS and turn from the truth (2 Thessalonians 2:10).  These want nothing to do with GOD on earth and suppress or push from themselves every thought of the LORD (Romans 1:18-23). So GOD gives them what they have chosen for all eternity.  It is written, “These shall be punished with everlasting destruction shut out from the Presence of GOD and the glory of HIS power (everything good)” (2 Thessalonians 1:9).

For this reason, we who know JESUS tell others about JESUS. And like GOD our Heavenly FATHER, we do not want others to suffer (Ezekiel 18:30-32).

The LORD is merciful and kind, HE is good and anyone who calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved! (Romans 10:9-10, 13).

Why did HE come?

You tell me, why did JESUS come to earth in a human body?

Hebrews 2:16 “For surely it is not angels HE helps, but Abraham’s descendants.’

Romans 4:16 Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham’s offspring—not only to those who are of the law but also to those who have the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all.

Why did JESUS put aside HIS glory and position of equal status with GOD our FATHER and the HOLY SPIRIT in heaven and humble HIMSELF and take on a human body and then die for our sins?

In my last post I mentioned 3 reasons JESUS came. 1) to do the will of GOD the FATHER (Hebrews 10:7) 2) to save us (humans) from our sins (Matthew 1:21), and 3) to destroy the work of the devil.

1 John 3:8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of GOD was manifested, that HE might destroy the works of the devil.

In this post I would like to show another reason JESUS came to earth as a human person.  JESUS spoke of this reason at HIS trial before the Romans.

John 18:37-38 “…JESUS answered, “You say that I am a king. In fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the TRUTH. Everyone on the side of TRUTH listens to me. Pilate said unto HIM, What is TRUTH?”

Another reason JESUS came to earth was to testify to the TRUTH.

Several of us gather together to answer Pilate’s question – What is TRUTH?

In our discussions, some asking questions and others answering them and the basis for most of us is the Bible.  We choose to use the Bible as our source because it is impossible for GOD to lie (Titus 1:2, Hebrews 6:18) for HE is a GOD of TRUTH (Deuteronomy 32:4). Therefore, HIS word (dictated to men by the GOD the HOLY SPIRIT also named the SPIRIT of TRUTH (2 Peter 1:21, John 16:13) is TRUTH and changes those who are willing to receive it and apply it to their lives.

John 17:17  Sanctify them through YOUR truth: YOUR word is TRUTH.

Hebrews 4:12  For the word of GOD is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Sometimes it is hard to understand why GOD does and says the things HE does and says.  That is because HIS perception and ways are infinitely higher than the heavens above our human reasonings and our human ways (Isaiah 55:8-9).  That is because HE knows all things-Past, present and future.

Being we are limited in our understanding, we are told the just shall live by faith.

Habakkuk 2:4 “Behold the proud, his soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith.”

Romans 1:17 “For in it the righteousness of GOD is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”

Hebrews 11:1 “Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.”

Romans 10:17  “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of GOD”.

John 1:14  And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld HIS glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and TRUTH.

John 8:31-32 Then said JESUS to those … which believed on HIM, If you continue in MY Word, then are you MY disciples indeed; And you shall know the TRUTH, and the TRUTH shall make you free.

John 14:6  JESUS said, I am the way, the TRUTH, and the life: no man comes to the Father, but by ME.

JESUS  “who being the brightness of HIS (GOD the FATHER’s) glory and the express image of HIS person, (Hebrews 1:3) we see they share the same nature.  We have seen that evidenced in seeing that GOD the FATHER, GOD the SON and GOD the SPIRIT are all TRUTH.  That TRUTH is revealed to us through GOD’s Word.  That’s why we read and study our Bible.

When we learn of GOD the FATHER, our LORD JESUS CHRIST and even the HOLY SPIRIT we learn the TRUTH.

How do you think that I, as the teacher in these gatherings react when I hear someone say, “I know the Bible says that but I don’t think it is so.  Note: the bible says the teacher will be judged with greater strictness by GOD (James 3:1).  Does it not stand in reason that I must speak out?

Lamentations 3:40 “Let us search (GOD’s Word) and try our ways and turn again to the LORD”.

Trouble figuring out what’s true?

2020 has been a year that so much has happened, much of which we don’t like. We don’t always know what is true. There are many things we cannot know and therefore cannot judge. We cannot judge another person for we do know all about their circumstances, what GOD is doing in their life, nor what is in their heart.  We cannot judge events or situations for we do not know what GOD is using them to do.  But JESUS tells us one thing we can judge rightly and that is doctrine.

In John 7:15-24 we find JESUS teaching in the temple in Jerusalem.  Some wondered about HIS doctrine and some even accused HIM as being a law breaker and having a demon. JESUS calmly answered them with 2 astounding proclamations.

1- “don’t judge by appearance but judge righteously” John 7:24

He told them to think through (or connect the dots) before making judgments (concerning right doctrine).  The Sabbath was made for man’s good for men need a day of rest. “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath” (Mark 2:27).  Via Moses (actually via Abraham and the fathers) came circumcision with its rule to be done on the 8th day.  People accepted circumcision  being done on the Sabbath if it was the 8th day for they considered it as a priority.  But their anger arose when JESUS healed making one well and whole on the Sabbath.  They did not realize genuine human need was a priority in the sight of GOD.

By saying “don’t judge by appearance but judge righteously”, in effect JESUS said “don’t just jump to conclusions, think things through using common sense and reason.  If you can pull out a child or a donkey who fell in a well (Luke 4:5-6) on the Sabbath, and can circumcise on the Sabbath mercy and compassion rank higher in importance so must be the priority.”

2-“If anyone will to do the will of HIM (GOD) he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it comes from GOD or whether I (or any teacher) speak on MY own authority” John 7:17.

The HOLY SPIRIT is given to everyone who believes in JESUS as LORD (Master) and (Savior) as out teacher and guide.  When we refuse to listen to HIS still small voice, we not only become deceived we also grieve and quench the HOLY SPIRIT who is sealed to us until the day of Redemption (Ephesians 4:30).  But when we seek to do GOD’s will and listen to the HOLY SPIRIT’s still small voice or little nudges, HE always will lead us right into truth.

We can judge if a doctrine of teaching is true when we want nothing more but to do the will of GOD.

Hugs,

Sharon

Claiming GOD’s promises

Do you remember ‘THE SPIRIT SONG?

Oh let the Son of GOD enfold you, with the SPIRIT of HIS love

Let HIM fill your heart and satisfy your soul.

Oh let HIM have the things that hold you, and HIS SPIRIT like a dove

Will descend upon your life and make you whole.

JESUS, o JESUS, come and fill YOUR lambs, JESUS, o JESUS, come and fill YOUR lambs

This was so good had to share- Quin Friberg’s messeage 11/14/20

Ephesians 4:1 Walk (live) in a manner that is worthy your calling (to be like JESUS-Romans 8:29)

Ephesians 4:17-20 don’t be like the unbeliever

Ephesians 4:17 in the futility of their thinking (vanity of their minds) who think there is no ultimate purpose or reason for their lives or for anything for that matter

Ephesians 4:18, 2 Peter 3:5, Romans 1:21 who are willingly ignorant (choosing to ignore and turn from truth) By refusing to glorify and thank GOD their foolish hearts and understanding darkened and have become blind/ alienated from the life of GOD.  They do not want the truth so ignore it.

Ephesians 4:19 so have given themselves over to sensuality, heart is desensitized/callous (calcified becoming harder and harder.  Like Romans 1:18-31 it’s a spiral downward to unbridled lust of greedy indulging themselves for pleasure not caring if it hurts another

But:

Ephesians 4:20-21 That is not how you learned of CHRIST, you have heard and believed the truth and have been taught by JESUS for the truth is in JESUS.

Ephesians 4:22 put off your old self, corrupt according to deceitful lusts by changing directions to follow CHRIST.  As in the game follow the leader, you do what you see the leader do.  So do what you see JESUS do.

Ephesians 4:23, Romans 12:2  Be renewed in the spirit of your minds by filling you mind with  the Word of GOD.

Ephesians 4:24 put on your new self, which is created in the likeness of GOD…doing right and being separate from evil- forsake the world.  JESUS said, “MY kingdom is NOT of this world” (John 18:36).

2 Peter1:3b-4 “…through the knowledge of HIM that has called us to glory and virtue (doing what is right) whereby we are given great and precious promises: that by using these you might be partakers of the divine nature having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”

As we listen to and obey the nudges GOD gives us through HIS Holy SPIRIT we can claim any promise that jumps out at us as we read GOD’s word.

Why won’t people believe?

WHY does not everyone who has heard the TRUTH of the grace of GOD have faith?

“For the grace of GOD that bringeth salvation hath appeared (been offered) to all men” (Titus 2:11).

Since FAITH comes from HEARING (Greek word means: to hear, listen to, pay attention, heed) and hearing comes through the WORD (rhema-spoken word) of CHRIST (Romans 10:17), WHY does not everyone who has heard the TRUTH of the grace of GOD have faith?

We know they have heard for:
GOD the FATHER shows/ manifests the TRUTH of HIS existence and HIS eternal power, wisdom and so much more about HIMSELF to everyone

“Because that which may be known of GOD is manifest in them; for GOD hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of HIM from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even HIS eternal power and Godhead; so that they (all) are without excuse “(Romans 1:19-20)

JESUS brings light (to the TRUTH) to everyone who comes into the world (John 1:9).

JESUS said unto him, I am the way, the TRUTH, and the life: no man cometh unto the FATHER, but by ME.

When believers in JESUS are yielded to the HOLY SPIRIT and tell others about JESUS, the HOLY SPIRIT gives power to their message spoken (Acts 1:8) by clearly explaining the TRUTH of GOD to the heart of the one hearing (1 Corinthians 2:10-12) and convicting those who hear (John 16:8).

2 Thessalonians 2:10 relates that some REFUSE to RECEIVE the love of the TRUTH.  It says they are perishing because they REFUSE to RECEIVE the love of the TRUTH.

Romans 1:18 tells us men PUSH AWAY, SUPPRESS the knowledge of the TRUTH they hear.

Zechariah 7:11-12 says when the Word of the LORD came, men REFUSED to LISTEN, PULLED AWAY they TURNED FROM the TRUTH and even STOPPED their EARS (like putting in ear plugs), that they should not hear and have MADE their hearts HARD as STONE.

John 3:19-20 relates men won’t come close (listen) and grab on to the TRUTH because they don’t like what it says and what it exposes in them.

Every one of the things men did to avoid the TRUTH shows that initially they understood what is being said, just like the Bible says in Romans 1:18-22.

I submit that faith is offered when the Word of CHRIST goes out in a gentle and loving way (2 Timothy 2:24-25) and the HOLY SPIRIT shows its TRUTH to the inner man. But faith must be RECEIVED, it is not shoved down the throats of men.

The scenario goes, I hear the TRUTH and say YES! and I have RECEIVED faith.  Initially I did it to Receive CHRIST as my Savior, now I do it when I see more of the TRUTH from the Word of GOD.  But I can say ‘NO!’ and turn away from the TRUTH and the insight I had initially will go away (Mark 4:23-25, Luke 8:18).

JESUS said: “Anyone who is WILLING to hear should listen and he will understand! And be sure to pay attention to what you hear. The more you do this, the more you will understand, and even more, besides. To those who are open to MY teaching, more understanding will be given. But to those who are not listening, even what they (initially) have (understood) will be taken away” (Mark 4:23-25 NLT).

I urge you in CHRIST’s stead to consider these things and may the good LORD give you wisdom and understanding (James 1:5, 1 Corinthians 2:10). Then talk over your thoughts with HIM (2 Corinthians 10:5).

Remember you will either believe the TRUTH or believe a lie…Note: take off the 1st 2 letters and the last to letters of the word believe and what do you have?   (LIE). So, don’t add or subtract from the Word of GOD.

AMEN

Most of us say “Amen” at the end of our prayers and know that it means, let it be so. But in our study of 1 Corinthians 14 we came across verse 16 that says no one can say AMEN to a prayer they do not understand. Since this was said to a New Testament church, I found it interesting that in a church setting that GOD wants HIS people to say AMEN aloud when they hear truth.

So, I did a little research and found a tidbit I think you will enjoy. I know I did.

The word AMEN is a transliteration of the Hebrew word. It means it is faithful and true. When AMEN is said by GOD it means: “It is and shall be so.” When said by men it means, “it is true and so let it be (happen).” Like what Mary said to the angel (Luke 1:38).

In Revelation 3:14 AMEN is a title for CHRIST JESUS because through HIM the purposes of GOD are established.

In the Old Testament it was the responsibility of the Jewish congregation to say AMEN after the reading of GOD’s word and thereby say “it is so” agreeing with GOD’s word. Rabbis (Jewish preachers) said, “that greater is he who responds AMEN (agrees with what GOD says), than he who blesses.

Do you? Do I agree with what GOD says in HIS word or do we turn away to how men explain away the clear words of Scripture when we don’t like or understand what GOD is saying?

Hmmm

I think I am going to say AMEN a bit louder, what about you?

A hint that works for me. I find that when I am not sure of what GOD is saying, prayer and then researching into the words by cross references in the Bible help me understand much more. The Bible itself I think is the best interpreter of scripture.
